Depression means the end of sex and, consequently the destruction of relationships. It’s one of those things that feel like common knowledge. It feels like something everyone just knows and doesn’t even really need to be said because we are all aware of it already. It’s devastating but there’s nothing to be done because that’s just the way it is, right? But what if I told you that that’s not necessarily the case? That, while depression’s impact on our sex lives and relationships can be devastating, there are things we can do about it.

I think this topic about sex and depression in relationships is a very important topic to talk about. At the start of most marriages and relationships, there is a lot of sex going on because it's new, exciting, etc...As time goes on in the relationship/marriage, the sex decreases for various reasons, and depression is one of those reasons. Often times, the person in the relationship whose sex drive has decreased, may not even know that it's related to depression, or even realize that they are depressed. I think that a way to help this struggle in relationships/marriages, is with honest, and open unbiased communication with each other.
